The Ruby Coast, good named is situated extremely south of Oriental Pyrenees, it lines the Mediterranean Sea in the East and leans on the massif of Albères on the West, more south extends Spanish Catalonia.
The terrace cultivated vineyards, climb hillsides and go back up in the sunny valleys, producing the famous wine of Banyuls, vintage wine of world reputation, and the remarkable Collioure table wine A.O.C. also appréciè in its category.
The climate, the light, the landscapes, the sea, attracted painters famous as Matisse and Derain and many others which often settled in our villages where studios and art galleries multiplied.
The church Notre-Dame-des-Anges built in the XVIIth century, is the image the most known for Collioure thanks to its surprising round tower, ancient key of the old transformed port bearing to limp there.
Castillet was the main door of the surrounding wall of Perpignan. The first construction begins towards 1368 under Pierre IV d' Aragon's administration, after the return of Roussillon in the crown of Aragon. It welcomes at present Casa Païral, museum of the Arts and Popular Traditions Joseph Deloncle.
